The Patterson Dental Mission Project, PDMP, was formed to support developing countries in desperate need of oral health care, prevention and education. PDMP has generously committed to supplying portable dental equipment and supplies for any dental professional wanting to organize a team and support a Dental Mission Trip in world communities in need of oral health care. According to the World Health Organization, 60-90% of school children worldwide have dental cavities, the most common oral disease.

Teams of dedicated individuals will be doing mission dentistry around the world. The PDMP will provide these teams with equipment and dental provisions. However we need your help to raise the necessary funds to assist in maintaining equipment and purchasing supplies.

UBC Dentistry will collect and administer donations in support of this project. 5% of all donations collected will be held by UBC in memory of Dr. Carolos Carrillo in support of a Dental Student Bursary. Dr. Carrillo was a tremendous advocate for donating his time and talent in providing oral health care worldwide. His legacy will live on through the PDMP project.
